Flare: obviously used to disrupt missles and yes its real

Extra plane: your base sends out back up duh

Repair: who cares it a game

Missle lock upgrade: obivously certain air to air missles lock on faster

Radar: flight trajectory. Duh

So no, the realism never was dead.
